Responsibility and Authority
LEPC’s
are established under the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA).
They are responsible to prepare and maintain comprehensive emergency
response plans, update the plan at least annually and let the public know.
In addition, it receives emergency release information and hazardous
chemical inventory information1 .
